Comparing Different Fault Models Using VERIFY1
نویسندگان
چکیده
Fault injection is a widely used method for evaluating dependable systems. The intention of this paper is to compare typical fault models used for fault injection regarding their accuracy in predicting the reliability of the system. For this purpose, we set up an experiment by injecting faults in a VHDL model of the DP32-processor at gate-level, pin-level and at register-transfer level. The experiment has been performed by using the simulation based fault injector VERIFY (VHDL-based Evaluation of Reliability by Injecting Faults efficientlY). The differences in the predicted mean failure rate of the system will be shown and a comparison of system’s behavior after fault injection will be presented. The results demonstrate that faults have to be injected at least at gate-level in order to represent the correct timing behavior of the digital system after the fault has been injected and help the designer of a dependable system to find the weak components.

Diagnosis of Different Types of Air-Gap Eccentricity Fault in Switched Reluctance Motors Using Transient Finite Element Method
This paper presents a method for diagnosis of eccentricity fault in a switched-reluctance motor (SRM) during offline and standstill modes. In this method, the fault signature is differential induced voltage (DIV) achieved by injecting diagnostic pulses to the motor windings. It will be demonstrated by means of results that there is a correlation between differential induced voltage and eccentri...

Multiple coupled circuit modeling of squirrel-cage induction motors, or winding function approach is the most detailed and complete analytical model used to analyze the performance of the faulty induction motors. This paper extends the above-mentioned model to a saturable model including variable degrees of the saturation effects using an appropriate air gap function and novel techniques for lo...
متن کاملFault location and classification in non-homogeneous transmission line utilizing breaker transients
In this paper, a single-ended fault location method is presented based on a circuit breaker operation using the frequencies of traveling waves. The proposed method receives the required data from voltage traveling waves with the aid of Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) and Wavelet Transform. Then, the Artificial Neural Network (ANN) identifies fault type and determines its location. In order to eval...
